Substance Use Recovery Nurse Coordinator

Duties

• Affords clinical assessments, utilizing clinical withdrawal scales, and monitors patient stability and progress.
• Determines if other services, such as Infectious Diseases and Mental Health, require consultation or referral based on assessment.

• Administrative Functions

    • The healthcare delivery system.
    • HIPAA and other regulating bodies for confidentiality of care.
    • Federal and State regulations governing correctional facilities and substance use disorders.
    • Infection control.
    • Clinical Withdrawal Scales.
    • Accrediting bodies and best practices (ACA, Title 37, NCCHC, PREA).
    • Services/Programs within the Community.
    • Case Management.
    • Knowledge of chemical dependence and range of efficacious treatment modalities.

    Skills

    • Microsoft Office products.
    • Electronic healthcare records.

    Ability

    • To interact with incarcerated individuals.
    • To lead, function independently, and make informed decisions using sound professional judgment.
    • To interpret and explain statistical data and information regarding detoxification issues.
    • To assess, develop, implement, and evaluate programs, goals, and objectives for providing quality care.
    • To communicate effectively with jail administrative and medical management, patients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
    • To establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff.
    • To adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks in a stressful environment.
    • To work alternate shifts, as indicated.
    • To ensure accountability 24 hours/day, 7 days per week.
