About the role
The Sante Group is seeking a Full-Time Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Phone Counselor to join their crisis intervention team in Timonium, MD. This position provides support to callers across Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Howard County, and Carroll County, offering services such as supportive counseling, information and referrals, crisis intervention counseling, suicide prevention, and intake screening.
Responsibilities
- Triage incoming crisis calls and obtain client information.
- Conduct assessments and dispatch appropriate resources when needed.
- Deescalate clients in crisis over the phone.
- Develop appropriate and realistic crisis plans and complete follow-up tasks.
- Effectively communicate clients' needs while making internal agency referrals.
- Adhere to Lifeline Standards, Crisis Now Standards, and other accrediting bodies' best practices.
- Network with local SUD providers to develop and expand resources.
- Knowledge and familiarity with community resources, both mental health and non-mental health.
- Absorb all federal, state, and local confidentiality and reporting regulations.
- Complete documentation in an accurate and thorough manner.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Social Work, or a related field of study OR ten (10) years of experience working on a crisis hotline.
- CAC-AD Certification or eligible to receive the certification.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience working in the SUD field.
- Knowledge of substance use disorder providers and various levels of care.
Qualifications

Pay and Schedule
Pay Range: $24.00 - $26.50 per hour based on experience and sign on bonus. Full Time Benefits.
