Substance Use Disorder Counselor Position Highlights

- Hourly rate is $23.32/hr and up (based on education and experience)

Substance Use Disorder Counselor Responsibilities
- Assessing clients' physical and mental behaviors
- Facilitating individual and group therapy sessions in English and Spanish
- Collaborating with psychiatrists, doctors, nurses, social workers, and departments of correction
- Identifying behaviors that interfere with treatment and recovery
- Aiding primary caregivers in managing addiction-related behavior
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- CADC-R, or ability to be credentialed as CADC-R by MHACBO
- One year of experience in social services or behavioral health
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and a compassionate nature
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen (including cannabis)
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in psychology or counseling
- Bilingual - Spanish/English
- Completed coursework on substance use disorders
- CADC I or CADC II certification
- Previous experience working in treatment for substance abuse disorders
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems, specifically CareLogic
- Experience with co-occurring health and mental health disorders
