Join Pioneer Human Services as a Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) or Substance Use Disorder Professional Trainee (SUDPT) and help improve the daily lives of community members through transformative social change, rehabilitation, and reintegration. Responsibilities

• Under supervision, provide evidence-based and promising substance use disorder services, including counseling, psycho-educational classes, process groups, problem-solving, and case management aligned with program policy and clients’ Individual Service Plans.
• Diagnose substance use disorders in accordance with the most recent Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (e.g., DSM-5) and ASAM requirements.
• Collaborate with Pioneer behavioral healthcare providers and community partners based on clients’ Individual Service Plans.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all activities in compliance with WACs, agency, and funder policies.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of community resources.
• Assist first responders (e.g., police and medical personnel) as needed.
• Perform essential job functions as scheduled, including attending shift/staff meetings and participating in planning and coordination.
• Utilize critical thinking to determine professional therapeutic interventions in client care.
• Document observations in daily notes per program policy.
• Promote teamwork and collaboration with coworkers while ensuring client and employee safety.
• Maintain, clean, and dispose of equipment and supplies according to policy.
• Uphold quality of care consistent with or exceeding federal, state, local, internal, and contract standards.
• Assist in developing treatment methodologies and educational offerings based on client needs.
• Adhere to professional and ethical standards for behavioral health services.
• Retrieve client and program data as needed.
• Complete peer file audits to ensure accuracy and quality of documentation and services.
• Participate in agency supervision to obtain and maintain licensure, support evidence-based practices, and comply with WAC and RCW requirements.
• Obtain additional training required by applicable WACs and annual training plans.
• For 24-hour locations: Obtain and maintain a valid Washington State Food Handler’s permit within one week of hire.
• For 24-hour locations: Become CPR & First Aid certified within 90 days of hire (or as soon as possible) and maintain certification throughout employment.

Requirements

For Substance Use Disorder Professional Trainee (SUDPT):

• Working toward an Associate’s Degree in mental health, behavioral health, or a related human services field.
• Credentialed with the Department of Health as a Substance Use Disorder Professional Trainee (SUDPT) in Washington State per WAC 246-811.

For Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP):

• Associate’s Degree in mental health, behavioral health, or a related human services field.
• Credentialed with the Department of Health as a Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) in Washington State per WAC 246-811.

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications for SUDPT:

• Completed first 50 hours of direct supervised training.
• Bachelor’s Degree in mental health, behavioral health, or a related human services field.
• Coursework, experience, or training in human development, chemical dependency, residential treatment, or related disciplines.

Preferred qualifications for SUDP:

• Bachelor’s Degree in mental health, behavioral health, or a related human services field.
• Experience working in the substance use disorder field and/or residential services.

If designated by the work location, the employee must have:

• A valid driver’s license.
• Personal auto insurance.
• A driver’s abstract/driving record acceptable to Pioneer’s auto insurance company.
• Compliance with Pioneer’s approved driver policy and guidelines.

Pay

New hires for this position typically start between:

• $19.86 and $24.82 hourly for SUDPT.
• $23.16 and $28.95 hourly for SUDP.

Individual compensation varies based on factors such as work location, experience, qualifications, skills, competencies, internal equity, and market conditions.
