About the Role

The Substance Use Disorder Prevention Coordinator (SUDPC) manages the network of substance use disorder prevention services for OCHN. This role involves collaborating with other OCHN departments on needs assessment, procurement, contracting, budgeting, and service reimbursement for network SUD prevention providers. The SUDPC educates, monitors, and provides technical assistance to network provider leadership and staff, while also handling invoice processing and strategic planning for SUD services.

Responsibilities

  • Leads communication, coordination, implementation, and management of service planning, initiatives, projects, and contract requirements for the SUD Prevention Services Provider Network.
  • Serves as the primary contact and liaison for SUD Prevention Providers.
  • Leads SUD Prevention Provider meetings.
  • Performs administrative functions using MDHHS-required systems (e.g., Michigan Prevention Database Service, EGrAMS).
  • Provides timely written reports based on federal, state, local, and OCHN requirements.
  • Develops and revises monitoring tools; conducts annual site visits and program reviews, providing recommendations for improvement and corrective action plans.
  • Represents OCHN in workgroups, committees, and meetings at the state, local, and internal levels.
  • Collaborates with other OCHN departments to ensure prevention services meet federal and state requirements, including preparing RFPs, contracts, and budgets.
  • Ensures Prevention Providers receive timely updates on contract/grant requirements and service delivery information.
  • Processes incoming invoices efficiently and reviews provider feedback or service delivery challenges.
  • Advances evidence-based or best prevention practices, including evaluating outcomes and service recipient satisfaction.
  • Coordinates services for special populations and targeted areas, including research, training, project evaluation, and stakeholder input.
  • Identifies and resolves prevention system issues, analyzing data and trends to develop improvement plans.
  • Develops and implements training to ensure provider staff have the skills for quality service delivery.
  • Collaborates with the Procurement Team on contract development and performance evaluation for designated populations.
  • Analyzes system data, identifies trends, and monitors service utilization by geographic area and population.
  • Collaborates with the IT team to develop and analyze service outputs for program evaluation.
  • Reviews and analyzes provider reports, making recommendations on outputs, financials, and contract compliance.
  • Responds to SUD Prevention Provider issues and complaints.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline or a Bachelor’s degree in the Human Service Field.
  • One of the following preferred:
    • Michigan Certification Board of Addiction Professionals’ (MCBAP) credential: Certified Prevention Specialist or Certified Prevention Consultant (CPC).
    • Timely progress in an MCBAP CPS or CPC Development Plan.
    • CHES certification.
  • Experience with federal and MDHHS Prevention services regulations and requirements.
  • Basic knowledge of SUD Prevention principles.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in SUD prevention.
  • Experience in project, grant, or contract management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience in the publicly funded SUD prevention services delivery system and requirements.

Additional Information

  • Must have reliable transportation for OCHN and offsite meetings or site visits.
  • Availability for meetings and events outside standard office hours may be required.
