Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services in coordination with the treatment team consistent with Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation’s Standards of Care.
• Provide clinical coaching to students and interns to facilitate development of clinical competency and ethical practice.
• Deliver substance use disorder treatment services to patients according to Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation standards, policies, and procedures.
• Represent Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation services to various audiences to ensure consistent knowledge about services, processes, and participation.
• Facilitate and demonstrate communication of patient information to internal and external resources while adhering to Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation policy, Federal Confidentiality (CFR 42), Health Information Portability and Privacy Act (CFR 45), and mandated reporting requirements.

Substance Use Disorder Counselor 2 Specifics

• Manage a caseload.
• Engage in remarkable team collaboration and peer support.
• Receive individual weekly clinical supervision with an LCSW (for clinical hours) and group supervision with a highly trained and diverse clinical multidisciplinary team multiple times weekly.
• Prioritize ongoing professional development with relevant CEUs toward licensure/renewal at no cost.
• Access reduced tuition to Hazelden Betty Ford Graduate School of Addiction Studies.
• Participate in leadership-supported DEI initiatives.

Requirements

Substance Use Disorder Counselor 1

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completed certificate/degree program in addiction counseling or equivalent.
• Active Substance Use Disorder certification or license in the state of employment:
  • CA: LAADC, CADC, CATC, or SUDCC
• Proficiency with technology and computer skills to document in an electronic health record system, attend virtual meetings, and manage Outlook emails and calendars.
• Minimum 2 years of freedom from chemical dependency.
• Current CPR certification or obtain within 30 days (fully remote work employees exempt). Certification must be from American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

Substance Use Disorder Counselor 2

• Master’s Degree.
• Completed certificate/degree program in addiction counseling or equivalent.
• Active Substance Use Disorder certification or license in the state of employment:
  • CA: LAADC, CADC, CATC, or SUDCC
• Proficiency with technology and computer skills to document in an electronic health record system, attend virtual meetings, and manage Outlook emails and calendars.
• Minimum 2 years of freedom from chemical dependency.

Pay

USD $67,679.00 - USD $90,247.00 per year.
