Career Opportunities | Compassionate Substance Use Counselor Needed!

About the role

A compassionate Substance Use Counselor is needed to assist patients through medically assisted treatments and offer techniques for handling opioid addiction. The counselor will conduct individual sessions to manage crises and provide coping strategies. They will evaluate patients' progress, collaborate with medical professionals, and develop aftercare plans.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual counseling services; direct service hours at regularly scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment.
  • Conduct initial assessment and evaluation interviews for service eligibility determination.
  • Complete bio-psychosocial assessments.
  • Facilitate, establish, and review initial treatment plans with patients.
  • Involvement of families and significant others in the patient's recovery process.
  • Respond to patient grievances and complaints.
  • Develop aftercare and discharge plans.
  • Perform other related duties as determined by supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Must hold an LAC, CAS, CAT, or LPCC in the state of Colorado.
  • A minimum of two years of counseling experience in a related setting is preferred.
  • The ability to develop comprehensive treatment plans and chart accurately.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Pay

Generally starting at $26 an hour. The salary of the candidate(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, specialty and training.
