About the role

The Substance Use Disorder Counselor provides high-quality behavioral health services to inpatients and outpatients, delivering compassionate, evidence-based care within an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
• Offer counseling and support to patients and families through recovery
• Coordinate care and maintain communication with referral sources
• Document patient progress and participate in patient education
• Engage in community outreach and post-treatment planning

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Relevant licensure or certification (e.g., CSADC, LSW, LCSW, LCPC, or CADC) within two years of hire
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in social work or a related field
• Multicultural sensitivity and basic computer skills
• Strong critical thinking and organizational abilities

Qualifications

• Knowledge of chemical dependency treatment and legal systems impacting patients
• Demonstrated efficiency and patient-focused care
