Substance Use Counselor
About the Role
Join MHMR’s Substance Use Disorder treatment services to change lives by helping patients who struggle with drugs and alcohol. In this role, you will assess potential patients for services, develop collaborative treatment plans that address the whole person, utilize counseling skills to provide group and individual counseling sessions, use evidence-based curriculum for psychoeducation, and work with cross-disciplinary teams to treat individuals holistically. Positions are available in both residential and outpatient settings.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree with a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) intern license (no minimum experience required).
- Master’s level clinicians (LPC-A and LMSW) may also qualify if they obtain their LCDC intern license.
- Spanish-speaking is a plus.
MHMR is a certified training institute with the state of Texas, allowing you to earn intern hours toward full licensure while working. Free supervision is provided.
