Duties and Responsibilities
- Care Coordination: Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to design and implement personalized treatment plans, and provide ongoing compassionate counseling to individuals dealing with substance use challenges.
- Diagnostics: Possess a thorough understanding of co-occurring disorders and the ability to make the distinction of primary mental health disorders and substance use disorders.
- Compliance: Maintain clinical documentation standards in accordance with Illinois Administrative Code Title 77, Part 2060.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct regular chart audits and performance evaluations to ensure departmental KPIs and clinical outcomes are met.
- Group Facilitation: Experience in facilitating didactic and psycho-educational groups as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in counseling or social work from an accredited, verifiable four-year college or university is required with a preference for licensing and/or Master’s Degree or a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor certified by IAODAPCA/ICB.
- Licensure (Preferred): Provisional license (LPC/LSW) or CADC.
- Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of clinical experience in substance use disorder treatment.
- Clinical Expertise: Understanding of the ASAM 4th Edition criteria and understanding of the DSM 5-TR as it relates to substance use and co-occurring disorders.

- The ability to utilize Microsoft Office tools; Teams, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
- The ability to maintain and accurately document occurrences.
- Adhere to deadlines and prioritize assigned work, projects.
- Understand the Social Determinants of Health as framework relative to client population needs.
- Awareness and utilization of Motivational Interviewing.
- Understand and practice a client centered approach.
- Understand and practice cultural awareness and humility.
