Substance Abuse Specialist - CIT - LAC - CAC - LMSW - PLPC

Requirements

• The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or other human service related field
  • LAC (Licensed Addiction Counselor), CAC (Certified Addiction Counselor), PLPC (Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor), LMSW (Licensed Master of Social Work) or Counselor In Training (CIT)
  • Knowledge and understanding of recovery principles and recovery driven service system
  • Valid Louisiana driver's license
  • Appropriate state and federal clearances

Responsibilities

• Provide evidenced based services to members diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness and co-occurring disorders
• Offer individual substance abuse therapy and facilitate substance use disorder groups
• Create and review individual crisis plans as needed
• Develop and maintain thorough and timely clinical documentation

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field
• Licensed addiction counselor (LAC), certified addiction counselor (CAC), provisional licensed professional counselor (PLPC), licensed master of social work (LMSW), or counselor in training (CIT)
• Experience working with individuals diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness and co-occurring disorders
• Knowledge of recovery principles and recovery-driven service systems
• Valid Louisiana driver's license
• State and federal clearances
