Substance Abuse Counselor (LCAS) – Full-Time

About the role

Pyramid Healthcare is actively seeking a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) to join our dedicated behavioral health team in Jacksonville, NC. This is a meaningful opportunity for a motivated clinician who is passionate about substance use disorder (SUD) treatment, mental health recovery, and evidence-based care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and biopsychosocial evaluations
• Provide individual therapy, group therapy, and family counseling
• Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR/ECR)
• Participate in utilization review (UR) and treatment planning meetings
• Support aftercare planning, discharge planning, and continuity of care
• Deliver crisis intervention and de-escalation support when needed
• Contribute to program development, curriculum enhancement, and staff training
• Participate in on-call rotation as assigned
• Maintain compliance with all state regulations, licensing standards, and company policies

Requirements

• Active LCAS licensure in North Carolina (required)
• Master’s degree in:Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related behavioral health field (preferred)
• Experience in substance use disorder (SUD), mental health, trauma-informed care, or co-occurring treatment settings (preferred)
• Valid driver’s license required

Preferred Experience

• Group therapy facilitation in residential or outpatient settings
• Experience with evidence-based modalities (CBT, DBT, MI)
• Familiarity with ASAM criteria or utilization review processes
• Experience working in structured clinical treatment programs

Qualifications

• Active LCAS licensure in North Carolina (required)

• Experience in substance use disorder (SUD), mental health, trauma-informed care, or co-occurring treatment settings (preferred)
