Substance Abuse Counselor

About the role

New Season offers exciting benefits and is seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor to join its collaborative treatment team. The role involves engaging with patients through individual, group, and family counseling, working with a multidisciplinary team, and addressing clinical and case management needs.

Responsibilities

• Engage with patients during intakes, admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Document patient progress through counseling and group interactions.
• Create and update individualized treatment plans within required timelines.
• Identify and address clinical and case management needs.
• Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions as needed.
• Educate patients on treatment, health issues, and recovery steps.
• Conduct Urine Drug Screens and verify patient identification.
• Act in the best interests of the program and company, protecting proprietary data.

Requirements

• Education/Licensure/Certification: Refer to state-specific requirements.
• Experience in substance abuse field preferred, but not required.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Human Services Related Field OR Master's Degree with MCAP certification.

Skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of substance abuse treatment principles and practices.
