About the role
New Season offers exciting benefits and is seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor to join its collaborative treatment team. The role involves engaging with patients through individual, group, and family counseling, working with a multidisciplinary team, and addressing clinical and case management needs.
Responsibilities
- Engage with patients during intakes, admissions, discharges, and transfers.
- Document patient progress through counseling and group interactions.
- Create and update individualized treatment plans within required timelines.
- Identify and address clinical and case management needs.
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions as needed.
- Educate patients on treatment, health issues, and recovery steps.
- Conduct Urine Drug Screens and verify patient identification.
- Act in the best interests of the program and company, protecting proprietary data.
Requirements
- Education/Licensure/Certification: Refer to state-specific requirements.
- Experience in substance abuse field preferred, but not required.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Human Services Related Field OR Master's Degree with MCAP certification.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of substance abuse treatment principles and practices.
