About the role
New Season offers exciting benefits and is seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor to join their team. Founded in 1989, New Season specializes in providing outpatient treatment centers for Opioid Use Disorder.
Responsibilities
- Engage with patients through individual, group, and family counseling
- Work collaboratively with a treatment team including Medical Director, Program Director, Treatment Services Coordinator, Counselors, and Nurses
- Identify and meet clinical needs of patients and assist in their overall well-being
- Complete intakes, admissions, discharges, and transfer paperwork
- Document patient progress through counseling and interactions with groups
- Create and implement individual and group treatment plans
- Provide education on treatment, health issues, and recovery steps
- Perform at least 20 hours of direct patient contact per week through individual and/or group counseling sessions
- Obtain Urine Drug Screens and initial patient photo identification
- Achieve all tasks while acting in the best interests of the program and company
Requirements
- Education/Licensure/Certification: Refer to the state-specific requirements for this position below
- Experience in the substance abuse field is preferred, but not required
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field
Skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of substance abuse treatment principles and practices
