About The Role

Clarvida is seeking a Substance Abuse Specialist to join our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team, supporting adults with severe mental illness who are also experiencing substance use challenges. In this role, you will provide integrated, recovery-oriented substance use services while working as part of a multidisciplinary ACT team. ACT services are delivered directly in the community—client homes, places of employment, and other local settings—to support stability, recovery, and long-term independence. You will conduct assessments, provide counseling, coordinate care, and connect clients with community resources aligned with individualized treatment plan goals. This position participates in a rotating on-call schedule (one week every 6–8 weeks).

Responsibilities

  • Provide substance use assessments and evaluations
  • Deliver individual and family counseling services
  • Provide case management services aligned with treatment plans
  • Support clients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
  • Link clients to appropriate community-based resources and supports
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary ACT team members
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule (1 week every 6–8 weeks)
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
  • Follow reporting regulations, patient rights standards, and crisis intervention protocols

Requirements

  • Active Louisiana licensure in one of the following: – LPC – LCSW – LPC-S – LAC / LAC-S – LMSW – PLPC CIT
  • Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience providing services to individuals with serious mental illness
  • Experience working with substance use disorders (personal recovery or professional experience preferred)
  • Valid State Driver’s License in good standing

Compensation & Benefits

  • Full-Time Employees: Salary range of $45,000–$60,000/year
