Subrogation Specialist
About the role
The Subrogation Specialist position is available in Argo Group's Chicago office, or alternatively in Albany, Los Angeles, Omaha, or Richmond. The role requires working from an office five days a week to foster a strong team culture and drive profitability.
Responsibilities
- Adjudicate subrogation auto and workers' compensation claims of higher technical complexity.
- Negotiate settlements and manage subrogation claims in litigation.
- Resolve issues requiring understanding of broader sets of issues and report to senior management.
- Act as a resource for claims adjusters, answering questions about subrogation matters.
- Manage case diaries to ensure timely and complete tasks for optimal financial outcomes.
- Identify, assign, and coordinate legal and expert resources for case resolution.
- Prepare reports for file documentation and apply creative solutions for the best financial outcome.
- Show an appreciation and passion for strong claim management.
Qualifications / Experience
- A minimum of two years of adjudicating auto or workers' compensation claims.
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, or four additional years of related claims experience.
- Good business acumen, understanding of how an insurance company works and makes money.
- Practical knowledge of adjudicating subrogation claims and exceptional customer service focus.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical and time management skills.
- Ability to articulate financial value and handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance.
- Desire for continuous professional development.
Pay
- Richmond: $78,250 – $92,250
- Albany & Chicago: $86,000 - $101,500
- Los Angeles: $94,000 - $110,500
