Subject Matter Expert (SME) Business Analysis and Facilitation with Security Clearance

About the role

Kaizen Approach is currently seeking a Business Analysis and Facilitation SME to support a high-visibility federal program with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

Responsibilities

• Lead business analysis efforts across complex, cross-functional initiatives focused on business process improvement, Agile adoption, and operational modernization.
• Gather and define requirements, facilitate stakeholder engagements, and translate business needs into actionable solutions that improve efficiency and mission outcomes.
• Lead requirements workshops, develop process models, and support system integration and deployment efforts.
• Collaborate across program leadership, technical teams, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful delivery of program objectives.

Requirements

• Must have the ability to lead requirements gathering efforts across large, complex federal programs, including facilitating workshops and stakeholder sessions.
• Must have the ability to analyze and document business processes, develop process flows, and identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.
• Must have the ability to translate business needs into functional requirements, use cases, and system specifications.
• Must have the ability to support Agile environments, including backlog development, user story creation, and sprint planning activities.
• Must have the ability to collaborate with technical teams to support system integration, testing, and deployment efforts.
• Must have the ability to engage with senior stakeholders and provide recommendations that influence business and operational decisions.
• Must have direct experience supporting DHS or USCIS programs, including exposure to the immigration ecosystem, related policies, and systems supporting identity management and immigration status verification.
• Must have experience supporting federal programs with a focus on process improvement, requirements analysis, and system implementation.
• Must have at least eight (8) years of experience in business analysis or related fields and a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain DHS suitability clearance.
