Responsibilities
- Maintain and configure ground radio and data link equipment, interfaces and connections to AEHF, HF, UHF, VHF, and SATCOM (MUOS/IW), communications systems and associated cryptographic equipment.
- Plan and schedule radio and related communications equipment installation and maintenance.
- Resolve installation and maintenance discrepancies using applicable directives, diagrams and installation systems recordsPRC-160 (3G/4G ALE).
- Initiate and conducts system verification tests to assess the capability and effectiveness of the ground radios and data link architecture and related communications systems and make recommendations to improve the overall communications program.
- Install, remove and configure ground radio and data link hardware and software (ie. WinTAK, ATAK, TRAX, L3Harris CPA) as required, perform system startups, reboots, configure radio man-machine and machine-machine interfaces, and system shutdowns.
- Monitor system performance and generate periodic summaries of system performance and usage.
- Provides on-site end-user support, telecom installation, maintenance, and repairs to a wide variety of telecommunications' systems, equipment, cabling, and to other related systems and equipment at all locations.
- Aids in asset management of on-site devices.
- Responds to and diagnoses problems through discussion with users. Ensures a timely process through which problems are resolved. Includes problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution, and follow-up steps.
- Responds to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support.
Requirements
- 6+ years of technical experience supporting Radio Support and Classroom Training, computer networks, software, and hardware.
- Eligible for Secret Clearance (US Citizen).
- Security + CE or equivalent to the appropriate level of certification IAW DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program to perform job duties.
