About the role

Oversee the end-to-end subcontracting process, including solicitation, negotiation, and administration of subcontracts to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.

Evaluate and select subcontractors based on performance, capabilities, and cost competitiveness.

Initiate and manage subcontracts documents primarily in a FFP (Firm Fixed Price), T&M (Time & Materials) environment, professional services agreements with compensation plans, and negotiating T’s & C’s (Terms & Conditions) including payment plans on high value procurements.

Collaborate with the business development team to provide subcontracting support for new business proposals, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and company objectives.

Contribute to the development of proposal strategies and pricing models.

Identify and assess potential risks associated with subcontracting activities and implement effective risk mitigation strategies.

Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and market conditions to anticipate and address potential challenges.

Conduct negotiations with subcontractors to establish favorable terms and conditions, including pricing, delivery schedules, and performance metrics.

Ensure that subcontract agreements align with the company's legal and financial standards.

Foster strong relationships with subcontractors and internal stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.

Resolve disputes and issues with subcontractors in a timely and professional manner.

Initiate and/or review/administer NDA’s, Teaming Agreements & Joint Ventures, while supporting the Supply Chain and Contracts Teams in a Commercial, FAR and DFAR environment.

Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies in subcontracting activities.

Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation for all subcontracting transactions.

Monitor subcontractor performance against established metrics and take corrective actions as needed.

Provide regular status reports to leadership on subcontracting activities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of Supply Chain/Business experience in subcontracts management, contract management, proposal price/cost analysis, procurement and strategic sourcing.
  • Experience in subcontracting and supply chain management within the aerospace and defense industry is a strong plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal acquisition regulations (FAR) and defense federal acquisition regulations (DFAR).
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with proposal development and pricing strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience in risk management and mitigation.
