About the role
Thermal Engineering International (USA) Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Subcontract Manager to become an integral member of our team. The main function of this position is subcontractor management for outsourced fabrication projects, involving continuous involvement with subcontract suppliers. Travel to visit subcontractors primarily in Europe, Mexico, Canada, and Asia will be necessary.
Responsibilities
- Manage subcontractor's schedule and progress report of engineering deliverables, materials procurement, fabrication, testing, shipping preparation, and shipment.
- Manage schedule of all deliverables as shown in the Document Data Transmittal Schedule (DDTS).
- Anticipate and mitigate the risk of issues that may impede subcontractor performance and purchase order requirements; discuss and resolve those issues with appropriate individuals.
- Conduct and/or coordinate progress visits to subcontractor facilities as necessary.
- Communicate with Project Management regarding late contractual deliveries to pursue back-charges or liquidated damages, if applicable, with the subcontractor.
- Coordinate with the Supplier Quality Representative (SQR) for all project-related subcontractor inspection activities and report status to the Project Team.
- Participate in subcontractor evaluations and annual performance reviews as necessary.
- Responsible for managing Purchase Order agreements with subcontractors.
Requirements
- An Associate's Degree in Engineering or Business Administration is required.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in the manufacturing industry and/or manufacturing outsourcing of heat exchanger, boiler, or pressure vessel.
- Knowledge of ASME Section VIII Div I and/or ASME Section III is an advantage.
- Domestic and international travel will be required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to schedule, manage, prioritize, and execute assignments.
- Demonstrated capability to collaborate effectively within a team setting and efficiently manage multiple priorities.
- Possession of CPCM Certification is considered an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel at an advanced level.
Pay
$95,000 - $135,000 annually (DOE & Location).
