Subcontract Field Coordinator II

About the role

The Subcontract Field Coordinator II works in a team environment, leads a team of Subcontract Field Coordinators, and is assigned subcontracts or services packages to oversee the field execution of the subcontractor or service provider based on the highest complexity on the project. This role understands commercial agreements, technical specifications, and safe construction craft execution.

The Subcontract Field Coordinator II leads the oversight of subcontractors or service providers in the field to ensure cooperation with Zachry craft and other subcontractors/service providers while executing work safely, with quality, and in alignment with the defined schedule and technical requirements. The role collaborates with Subcontract Managers to ensure subcontractors or service providers adhere to their commercial agreements and coordinates efforts to remove any limitations that could hinder work completion.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development, preparation, and award of subcontract/service bids, including presenting the rationale behind recommended awards.
• Attend assigned subcontract/services project meetings to ensure schedule, priorities, and expectations are met, including kick-off, pre-mobilization, and on-site meetings.
• Monitor contractor progress and performance to ensure work is performed safely and with quality.
• Assist with project change and claim management procedures, including identifying change orders, back charges, drawing revisions, etc.
• Maintain daily work and manpower logs for each assigned subcontractor/service provider.
• Assist in reviewing, evaluating, and authorizing progress payments based on actual work completed.
• Provide updates to Subcontract Administrators on the progress of assigned subcontract/service providers.
• Oversee field coordination with direct craft and other subcontract/service providers.
• Lead weekly field reviews of subcontract/service providers.
• Lead subcontract/service turnover and closeout.

Requirements

• 5 years of experience in subcontract management or 1-3 years of craft experience as a Superintendent on industrial construction or maintenance services projects.
• Craft-specific experience (e.g., Electrical & Instrumentation and Transportation Management).

Physical Requirements

• Adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, and lifting.
• Communicate through talking and hearing.
• Use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects, materials, controls, and tools.
• May be required to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.
• Work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and occasionally work off platforms/scaffolding using appropriate fall protection.
• Work in all weather conditions (heat, rain, cold, wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves, and leather steel-toed work boots.

Work Environment

• Work in all weather conditions, ranging from warm/hot to cool/cold, with occasional rain.
• Work at different elevations and in confined spaces for extended periods.
• Moderate to high noise levels.
