About the role
This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which includes Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. It supports the purchase of COTS items and services for the Test and Flight / Mission Ops teams.
Responsibilities
- Processing & Managing RFQ, RFI, and RFPs
- Leading formal negotiations of all types (pricing, terms and conditions, scope of work, schedule, etc.)
- Constructing various contracting types for major procurement activities to meet the requirements of the programs and needs of the business, continuous improvement initiatives, and identification of opportunities for enhanced efficiencies.
- Taking ownership of the procurement process from requisition creation through final payment of invoices and being accountable to resolve issues within this process.
- Supporting the overall procurement organization's strategic direction and ensuring corporate strategic objectives are achieved, including delivery of materials that are on time, within budget, and meet technical performance requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration / Management, Accounting, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of tactical experience in procurement / supply chain; or Master's degree in Business Administration / Management, Accounting, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related filed with a minimum of 3 years of tactical experience in procurement / supply chain.
- Interprets and applies company policies, procedures, work instructions, business standards and at times U.S. government regulations, i.e., FAR, DFAR, SOX Compliance.
- Strong analytical skills, data driven with experience in establishing and tracking program metrics.
- Ability to negotiate for price reasonableness using various pricing methods and data sources.
- Ability to develop and execute negotiation plans for negotiations of all types, including, pricing, terms and conditions, schedules, scope of work and statements of work.
- Effective communication with internal and external customers to include working in supplier statements of work, and making suggestions internally to our customers & externally to our suppliers based off of findings.
- Experience in procurement of COTS, raw materials, professional services in support of Test Stands.
Qualifications
- Experience with Costpoint, Coupa, JIRA Atlassian software, Tableau, Databricks.
- Experience working with Certified Cost or Pricing Data.

- Ability to triage daily demands and assess risks so you can focus on the most important issues.
