sUAS Flight Operator (FTC)

About the role

Wing is looking for a sUAS Flight Operator to join our Flight Operations team for a 36-month fixed term contract.

The role involves operating multiple highly autonomous small uncrewed aircraft systems, qualifying and functioning as a Part 135 sUAS Flight Operator for Wing’s commercial drone delivery service in the US, and reporting to the Chief Pilot or Assistant Chief Pilot.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Chief Pilot or Assistant Chief Pilot
• Qualify and function as a Part 135 sUAS Flight Operator for Wing’s highly autonomous drone delivery service on a regular basis
• Work with the Flight Operations Manager to ensure daily operations are safely conducted
• Communicate with other crewmembers to safely and effectively operate the system
• Maintain the high professional standards required for a drone Part 135 pilot-in-command

Requirements

• Current FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot certificate
• Current driver’s license and clean driving record within the last 36-months
• 3+ years experience with commercial or public UAS operations or university level education and training in civil aviation operations
• Experience working with web-based monitoring and control systems
• Experience with technical or engineering record keeping methods and tools
• Ability to communicate clearly in spoken and written English
• Ability to work a rotating 7-day schedule within crew duty time limits, including weekends and holidays
• Willingness to travel to complete initial and recurrent training
• Able to maintain attention to detail for extended periods in a monitoring role
• Must possess FAA First, Second or Third Class Medical Certificate or obtain prior to start date
• Willing to meet Pilot Records Database (PRD) consent requirements
