About the role

John Knox Village seeks a salon professional to provide high-end hair and nail services to its residents and associates. This position offers competitive commission and tips, flexible scheduling, and the opportunity to use specialized salon services.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of salon services including shampoos, roller sets, cuts, perms, and color treatments.
• Work with the Manager of Salon Services to promote salon services and engage with potential customers.
• Support the Village's mission, values, and service/hospitality (PRIDE) expectations.
• Complete training as required by policy.
• May assist with resident and associate appointments, inventory management, and salon maintenance.
• Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, maintaining a positive and supportive environment.
• Ensure salon cleanliness and adhere to safety regulations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Missouri cosmetologist license.
• One year hair cutting/styling experience.
• Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and customer service skills.
• Basic computer skills, including keyboarding and basic cashiering systems.
• Ability to handle stress and work in a team environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of current hair trends and product knowledge.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
• Physical ability to perform light work tasks, including bending, kneeling, and reaching.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Skills

• Basic computer skills, including Word, Outlook, and cashiering systems.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
