STUDENT WORKER-TUTORING CENTER STUDENT TUTOR

Essential Functions

• Attend tutor training workshops
• Conduct small-group and/or one-to-one tutoring
• Help students develop positive study habits and study skills
• Help students with projects and prepare for quizzes and tests
• Explain concepts and ask questions that encourage students to think and work independently
• Encourage students to complete homework assignments
• Be at work on time as scheduled
• Maintain contact with the Tutoring Center Coordinator
• Exhibit excellent customer service skills toward all students and NCMC faculty/staff
• Schedule and conduct online tutoring when requested

Requirements

• Skills: Strong knowledge of the subject being tutored, strong verbal and written communication, ability to explain concepts clearly, active listening, approachable demeanor, strong interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to work with a wide range of students.
