Student Worker- Learning Assistant

General Information

Learning Assistants play a crucial role in supporting educational programs and facilitating effective learning experiences within the classroom.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with faculty and program coordinators to implement instructional strategies.
• Aid in the delivery of educational materials, such as organizing and distributing course materials, setting up equipment, and maintaining a structured learning environment.
• Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment that respects and values diversity, ensuring equal opportunities for all students.
• Collaborate with other learning assistants, faculty, and program staff to share best practices and collectively enhance the quality of education within the NOYCE program.
• Participate in a pedagogy course. The tuition for the pedagogy course is covered by the learning assistant program.

Qualifications

• Must be a current Black Hawk College student.
• Preference given to those considering education as a major, particularly in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics).
