About the role

This position supervises, trains, and manages the food operation, ensuring appropriate quantities of food are prepared and served.

Responsibilities

  • Produce and maintain work schedules and prepare production records.
  • Direct daily activities and maintain food production that ensures safety and quality according to policies and procedures.
  • Ensure food items are stored in a safe, organized, and hazard-free environment.
  • Maintain all serving schedules; ensure food is served per menu specifications following department policies.
  • Maintain a sanitary department in compliance with health and safety codes.
  • Conduct accurate weekly inventory and prepare orders as needed.
  • Supervise and evaluate employees; counsel and promote employee growth, efficiency, morale, and teamwork.
  • Maintain a safe and hazard-free working environment.
  • Train and mentor other food service workers.
  • Maintain logs on equipment maintenance and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Recommend equipment replacement to meet facility needs.
  • Multitask effectively and perform duties as requested by the Food Service Director or Manager.
  • Fill in for absent employees at the location as necessary.
  • Maintain knowledge of daily catering events and confirm timely preparation and delivery.
  • Attend food service meetings and maintain communication with staff.
  • Perform cashier duties as needed.
  • Promote good public relations.
  • Work occasional night and weekend catered events.
  • Audit locations including signage and recipes.
  • Maintain supplemental allergy-free/gluten-free stations (e.g., Worry-Free Zone, Stress-Less Corner).
  • Assist with cleaning, restocking, ordering, and programming (e.g., UREC Cooking classes, allergy/dietary restriction programming).

Requirements

  • Must read, write, and understand verbal instructions.
  • Complete a sanitation course either before or during the first year.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
  • Maintain emotional control under stress.
  • Knowledgeable in operating an efficient, cost-effective program.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be a student at the Aramark location.

Pay

The hourly rate for this position is $17.50.
