Student Worker (IVC - ELEVATE)

Applicants/Incumbents must be currently enrolled in 6+ units at Irvine Valley College during the Fall/Spring semesters and 3+ units during the summer to qualify for Student Worker positions.

About the role

Assist CAANAPI staff with helping students and other center-related duties. Provide case management for a cohort of mentees to ensure student success. Perform office support including check-in processes, programmatic support, maintenance of the center, data management, and communication with students, faculty, staff, and community members. Conduct outreach, in-reach, and other marketing and communication support for various ELEVATE-related activities.

Schedule

• Work schedule: varies and is subject to change based on department needs
• Hours per week: up to 20

Employment Conditions

• Short-term, temporary, hourly Non-Bargaining Unit (NBU) assignment, not to exceed 160 days and 960 hours per fiscal year (July 1st through June 30th)
• Assignments are onsite only and may be shortened or extended at any time with little or no notice
• Employment is at-will; either party may terminate the working relationship at any time without reason
• NBU employees are limited to working in a single position for a single department and site
• NBU employees are paid on a monthly basis
• NBU employees who work more than 1,000 hours per fiscal year must contribute to the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) through payroll deduction
• Employees must reside in California while employed with the South Orange County Community College District (SOCCCD)
