Student Worker, Information Security – Incident Response

Responsibilities

• Support initiatives including security operations, incident response, threat intelligence, and threat hunting.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of incident response playbooks, checklists, and standard operating procedures to improve team readiness.
• Identify gaps in security controls and recommend solutions to remediate or mitigate identified gaps.
• Perform analysis of security events utilizing a range of security and analysis tools, including gathering evidence, documenting findings, and helping reconstruct attack timelines.
• Collaborate closely with teams within Information Security as well as other business units including Global Information Technology.

Requirements

• The successful candidate will have preferably completed a minimum of their sophomore year and be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Computing & Information Science, Information Studies, or a related field of study.
• A minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred; however, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
• Must possess knowledge in one or more of the following: security operations, incident response, threat hunting, threat intelligence.
• Knowledge of scripting: PowerShell or Python.
• Experience utilizing Microsoft tooling: Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Power Automate.
• Exceptional teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in speaking, comprehending, reading, and writing English is required.

Pay

• If pursuing a Bachelor’s degree: $20/hour
• If pursuing a Master’s degree: $25/hour
• If pursuing a Doctorate: $30/hour
