Responsibilities

Build positive mentoring relationships with elementary and middle school students.

Facilitate individual and small-group mentoring using CHADS Coalition's Social Emotional Well-Being curriculum.

Support students in developing emotional regulation, communication, problem-solving, relationship, and decision-making skills.

Communicate regularly with teachers, school staff, and families.

Monitor student progress and maintain required documentation and outcome data.

Ensure services meet CHADS program and quality standards.

Participate in agency meetings, supervision, and professional development.

Represent CHADS Coalition professionally within partner schools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Youth Development, Mental Health, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience working with elementary or middle school-aged children.
  • Experience supporting social-emotional development, mentoring, or youth programming.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and technology skills.
  • Reliable transportation to assigned schools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in K–8 school settings.
  • Experience facilitating small groups or mentoring programs.
  • Knowledge of social-emotional learning, youth mental health, and suicide prevention.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations.
  • About the role

    This is a part-time, school-based position during the academic year. Mentoring sessions take place during the school day, generally between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Mentors work up to 32 hours per week and must be available for at least 15 hours per week.

    Starting Salary: $21 - $23 per hour
