About the Role

Assist with planning, development, implementation, and delivery of all Student Support Services (SSS) programs and services. Provide academic advisement and counseling to project participants, including the development of Individual Educational Career Plans. Support progress reporting and follow-up for program participants. Serve as a liaison between SSS, college faculty, and community agencies as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist students with individual needs, academic advisement, and counseling.
  • Coordinate and train peer mentors, and supervise the peer mentoring program.
  • Plan and coordinate cultural activities for each program year.
  • Serve on the campus Students of Concern Committee.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Education, Counseling, or a related academic area.
  • Minimum of 2 years of program experience in counseling or academic support services for low-income, first-generation, and/or minority students.
  • Knowledge of collegiate academic and financial assistance procedures.
  • Experience in networking and coordinating program activities.

Qualifications

Preference given to candidates who have succeeded in overcoming barriers similar to those confronting the project’s target population.
