About the Opportunity
The Student Success Manager - Veteran Education Programs is responsible for ensuring veteran students complete their IT training programs and successfully transition into tech careers. This role involves proactive student engagement, early problem identification, and accountability to maximize student outcomes such as program completion, certification, and job placement. The position is critical in maintaining low withdrawal rates and fostering meaningful progress toward career goals.
Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload primarily composed of veteran students using military education benefits
- Conduct regular check-ins, including two calls in the first month and monthly one-on-ones thereafter
- Identify students at risk of falling behind through data analysis and initiate timely interventions
- Hold students accountable for their goals with empathy
- Maintain detailed documentation of student interactions in the CRM system
- Collaborate with Admissions, Training, Career Services, and Student Success Administrator teams
Qualifications
- Knowledge of military education benefits such as the GI Bill and VR&E, or the ability to learn them quickly
- Deep familiarity with military culture and career transition challenges to build trust with students
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in student support, advising, or success roles, ideally in education or training
- Empathetic yet firm approach to student accountability
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping
- Ability to use data proactively to address student challenges
- Clear communication skills with students and internal teams
- Access to reliable high-speed internet and a quiet space for calls
Pay
- Base salary: $45,000–$65,000 USD annually, depending on experience and tier
- Performance-based compensation of up to 50% of base salary, tied to student outcomes
- On-target earnings (OTE): $67,500–$97,500 USD annually, with higher earning potential for top performers
