University of Alabama at Birmingham This position requires a highly organized individual with strong attention to detail, excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills, and proficiency in working with spreadsheets and technology-based systems. The successful candidate must be able to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. General Responsibilities To review, oversee and coordinate all clinical activities for UAB dental school students to ensure they are successful in fulfilling their clinical requirements for graduation while ensuring all dental code of standards are being met. Key Duties& Responsibilities Develops and makes available patient and daily clinic data and reports to facilitate dental clinic planning and student success. Serves as primary contact for dental students for clinic assessibility, management of patients, meeting graduation requirements and ensuring code of standards are being met. Assists with planning and implementing annual student success activities with each junior/senior dental class. Collaborates with dental students, clinic coordinators, business office and other campus offices, if needed, to provide student support. Provides administrative functions associated with the delivery and assessment of dental school code of standards. May manage some human resource functions for dental school students, including hiring and maintaining personnel records. Assists with the implementation and maintenance of systems to track and record student’s progress, including reporting of all patient needs and activities. Assists with attendance and grade monitoring activities to facilitate student achievement, retention and graduation. Performs other duties as assigned. Preferred Skills Experience in a school-based dental program is a plus. Dental office experience Knowledge of dental office operations, dental terminology and patient scheduling procedures. Familiarity with dental technology, electronic health records, and dental coding/billing processes Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet management, strong computer and technology skills, including the ability to learn and use specialize software systems. Ability to prioritize tasks, maintain organization, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, families, dental providers and community partners. Hourly Range: $19.80-$32.15 Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.
