About the role
This position is responsible for tracking and assisting students by providing holistic services from pre-enrollment to completion for a defined set of students with a primary goal of assisting them with overcoming barriers to their success in college.
Essential Job Functions/Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Build relationships with students to achieve their identified goals and objectives.
- Review student progress and track student use of academic support services.
- Aid students in identifying factors that contribute to lack of academic progress, assist students in examining alternatives, and apply appropriate retention strategies to support students' efforts.
- Strategize with faculty and other college staff as needed to improve support for student success.
- Maintain accurate tracking data and notes for each assigned student, recommend appropriate referrals and opportunity programs.
- Sponsor annual recruitment of new students.
- Create and conduct training sessions/workshops for students, faculty and staff.
- Aid in the development and implementation of various institutional retention activities.
- Participate in new student orientation and first year experience activities.
- Utilize an SIS student records system and function within a computerized office environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Two years’ experience delivering direct support/services to students in a higher education setting with a wide-ranging student body
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution
- Bilingual fluency in English and Arabic or Spanish
- Prior work experience at a community college
- Academic advising or student success coaching experience
Rate of Pay
$46,355.00 to $57,945.00 annually, depending on experience
