Young Life requires all employees to sign a Statement of Faith. Applicants must profess a belief in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord, subscribe to Young Life’s statements and policies, and commit to fulfilling ministry functions both during and outside working hours.

About the Role

This role involves spiritual, leadership, resource, and direct ministry development, as well as administrative support. Employees are expected to actively engage in Young Life’s mission of evangelism and discipleship.

Responsibilities

  • Spiritual Development
    • Develop a yearly personal growth plan focusing on prayer, spiritual disciplines, fellowship, and scripture engagement.
    • Maintain active participation in a church community and the spiritual life of the Young Life community.
    • Lead teams and individuals in spiritual development.
  • Leadership Development
    • Meet regularly with volunteer leaders and area leadership.
    • Recruit, train, and build a leadership team that reflects the community.
    • Model excellence in contact work, club, Campaigners, and camping.
    • Attend and participate in area leadership as assigned.
  • Resource Development
    • Raise financial support and maintain donor care practices.
    • Communicate ministry updates to donor partners.
    • Assist with camp fundraisers and attend committee/adult functions as assigned.
  • Direct Ministry
    • Engage in contact work at all three levels (club, Campaigners, and camp).
    • Lead or co-lead a Young Life club and discipleship ministry.
    • Implement summer and school-season camping strategies.
    • Potentially serve on summer staff or at a Young Life property under the area director’s direction.
  • Ministry Support
    • Adhere to Young Life policies, including office hours, dress code, and conduct.
    • Set and review yearly ministry and personal goals.
    • Assist with office administration and complete expense reports in a timely manner.
    • Perform other duties aligned with gifts, experience, and area needs.

Training

  • Participate in regional training events as required by the regional director.
  • Complete job assignments under the supervision of the area director or mentor, with a focus on spiritual maturity and ministry skills (e.g., The 5 C’s).
  • Familiarize yourself with area strategy and ministry health as assigned.
  • Learn personal fundraising principles, including Basic Elements for Part-Time Staff.
  • Engage in Young Life discipleship experiences (e.g., summer staff, discipleship focus, adventure camping).

Requirements

  • Proven relational skills with both youth and adults.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Pursuing or holding a college degree (preferred).

Pay

The anticipated annual salary for this position ranges from $5,096 to $6,058, depending on education, experience, and location.
