Responsibilities
Ministry Functions
Spiritual Development- Develop a yearly personal growth plan for a vibrant spiritual life, including solitude, retreat, reflection, prayer, and Bible study.
- Seek and maintain relationships within an active church community.
- Actively participate in the spiritual life of the Young Life community.
- Lead teams and individuals in spiritual development.
- Meet regularly with volunteer leaders and area leadership.
- Recruit and train new leaders to build a diverse and effective team.
- Model excellence in contact work, club, Campaigners, and camping.
- Attend and engage with area leadership as assigned.
- Raise financial support and maintain donor care practices.
- Communicate ministry updates to donor partners.
- Assist with camp fundraisers and attend committee/adult functions as assigned.
- Engage in all three levels of contact work.
- Lead or co-lead a Young Life club and Campaigners/discipleship ministry.
- Implement summer and school-season camping strategies.
- Potentially serve on summer staff or at a Young Life property under the area director’s guidance.
- Adhere to Young Life policies, including office hours, dress code, and conduct.
- Set and review yearly ministry and personal goals.
- Assist with office administration as needed.
- Complete expense reports accurately and promptly.
- Perform other duties aligned with gifts, experience, and area needs.
Training
Regional TrainingCertain regional training events may be required at the regional director’s discretion.
Area Training- Work through job assignments under the supervision of the area director or mentor.
- Receive individualized training to develop spiritual maturity and character.
- Focus on an individualized program to gain competency in ministry skills (e.g., The 5 C’s).
- Become familiar with area strategy and ministry health as assigned.
- Learn personal fundraising principles, including familiarity with Basic Elements for Part-Time Staff.
- Participate in Young Life discipleship experiences (e.g., summer staff, discipleship focus, adventure camping).
Requirements
- Proven relational skills with both youth and adults.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Pursuing or holding a college degree.
Pay
The anticipated salary range for this position is $78.40–$6,240, depending on education, experience, and location.
