Responsibilities
- Assists in performing diagnostic, interventional and/or surgical procedures using a variety of cardiovascular and/or radiologic technologies, techniques and practices.
- Prepares patient for procedure under immediate supervision.
- Performs procedures using equipment technologies, techniques and practices associated with primary specialty for which the student is being trained.
- Maintains department records, reports and files.
- Orders and stocks all supplies and ensures procedure area is clean and ready for the next patient.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited cardiovascular or radiologic technology program.
- No prior experience required.
Skills
- Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
- Knowledge of diagnostic cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology procedures.
- Ability to operate equipment associated with primary specialty in which the student is being trained.
- Ability in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients and other staff members.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
