Student Services- SPED Intervention Assistant #125

Part-time position supporting special education programs within the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District.

About the Role

This is a part-time Special Education Intervention Assistant role, working directly with students who require additional academic, behavioral, or social-emotional support.

Schedule

• 9.5 months per year (school year calendar)
• 5 days per week (Monday–Friday)
• 18.75 hours per week
• Shift: 11:35 a.m. – 3:20 p.m.
• Testing may be required on Tuesdays by appointment only

Pay

Hourly pay range: $24.30 – $29.62.

Responsibilities

• Assist certificated staff in providing specialized academic instruction and behavioral support to students with disabilities
• Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) under the direction of the special education teacher
• Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals
• Support students in both general education and special education settings
• Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment

Requirements

• Open to PYLUSD permanent employees, substitutes, and external applicants
• Must meet one of the following:
  • Completion of 48 units of college coursework
  • Associate degree or higher
  • Passage of the Instructional Aide Test (ESSA)
• Current resume required
• Copy of transcript (degree or unofficial showing 48+ units) or ESSA test results must be provided
• At least two professional references must be listed on the application
• Selected candidates must successfully complete a DOJ/FBI LiveScan background check
