Student Services Specialist
This position is a member of the WOS under the Office of the Registrar and within the Division of Enrollment Management. Utilizing a collaborative, team-based work approach, the incumbent provides front-line support and subject matter expertise for all division offices ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service while maintaining compliance with University policies, procedures, and regulations.
About the role
This position is responsible for the comprehensive administration, support, and enforcement of all academic records across all platforms as well as the maintenance and integrity of academic records across multiple systems and platforms. The role includes coordination of daily operational functions within the unit and serving as primary liaison between the office(s) and academic community. The incumbent independently resolves complex student and institutional issues, supports cross-functional business processes, and contributes to the development and implementation of operational enhancements. In partnership with the Assistant Director, this position assists with planning, evaluating, and monitoring process improvements to enhance efficiency, service delivery, and the student experience.

Worksite
This position is on-site. All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.
Requirements
- High school diploma (or equivalent) and four years of relevant experience. Requirements may be met through a combination of education and experience.
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
Preferred qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree.
- At least two years of progressively responsible experience in Enrollment Management (Admissions, Financial Aid, and Registrar) or experiences directly related to the area of expertise that interacts with the business processes handled by these offices.
- Working knowledge of Student Information Systems platform(s) (e.g., PeopleSoft/Oracle, u.achieve/DARS, Imaging (Laserfiche, Perceptive/ImageNow), National Student Clearinghouse, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to work in groups emphasizing collaboration, consensus building, conflict resolution, and problem solving.
- Experience working with various populations, along with providing training and technical development, public speaking, presentations, and customer service in higher education-related areas.
- Experience working in a student-facing office setting and a direct customer service setting.
Additional role information
- Daily work requires repetitive movements of wrists, hands, and fingers when using a computer performing daily tasks and sit, stand, and walk handling/preparing diplomas.
- The employee accesses diploma supply storage for graduation supplies and uses a large room for diploma assembly. Heavy lifting of diploma boxes may be required as well as the use of an office hand truck for transporting diploma supplies.
- Must be able to handle a variety of processes which could cause high levels of stress during peak periods.
- Daily use of: desktop computer, dual monitors, photocopier/scanner, multi-line telephone, printer, Official University Seal, student information system, degree audit system, imaging system, and document ordering system.
Pay
$16.36 - $20.44 hourly
