Student - Science Courses Lab Assistant

Newman University’s Division of Math and Science is seeking part-time student lab assistants for the Fall 2026 semester to support the lab portions of science courses.

Responsibilities

• Attend your assigned lab section and actively participate in the student learning process.
• Assist in the evaluation and assessment of lab reports as directed by the course instructor.
• Maintain confidentiality of all coursework, assignments, grades, and any material on graded assignments.
• Aid the instructor during class, including supervising the lab, ensuring students perform activities correctly, and helping to answer questions.
• Monitor and notify the instructor if supplies for future labs are low and need to be reordered.
• Assist with lab prep and clean-up, including cleaning and disinfecting the lab before and/or after labs.

Requirements

• Continued full-time student status (minimum of 12 credit hours).
• Successful completion of the corresponding lab course with a grade of B or higher, preferably at Newman University.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Pay

$8.25 per hour
