About the Role
Provides technical assistance under the supervision of a Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner to a designated patient group, supporting quality outcomes and effective communication with staff, patients, and guests. Performs specific procedures outside critical care areas, including monitoring low-flow oxygen, aerosol therapy, airway clearance, electrocardiograms, and equipment management. Assists in cardiorespiratory arrest situations once BLS certified.
Responsibilities
- Assess, develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans under supervision.
- Contribute to healthcare delivery improvements and participate in educational activities.
- Support respiratory care staff with patient assistance and operational tasks.
- Engage in ongoing clinical learning and achieve assigned goals.
Requirements
- Enrolled as a second-year Respiratory Care Practitioner student or senior-year candidate within one year of graduation from an accredited program.
- Computer literacy is required; BLS certification within 14 days of hire is preferred.
- Meets or exceeds academic requirements.
