Responsibilities
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with patients, providers, team members, and others of diverse backgrounds.
- Moves, positions, and manipulates radiographic equipment to complete requested procedures safely.
- Performs patient care duties within scope of practice, including transporting patient and using proper infection control techniques.
- Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks.
- Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low.
- Follows basic radiation safety concepts of time, distance and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patient and staff.
- Pursues ARRT registration and appropriate continuing education for professional development.
- Performs radiographic imaging procedures under the guidance of radiologic technologist, ensuring high-quality images that meet department standards.
- Selects technical factors to produce radiographic images safely and in a timely manner.
- Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.
- Affords assistance to patients during procedures, ensuring their comfort, safety, and privacy, in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
