Student Radiology Tech – Cath Lab (PRN)

About the Role

Provides clerical and technical support to the Radiology Department under the supervision of the Technical Supervisor or coordinating technologist.

Responsibilities

• Completes a comprehensive assessment on patients of all ages under the supervision of a Registered Technologist.
• Obtains pertinent medical history from patient by observation or with oral communication under the supervision of a Registered Technologist.
• Performs patient assessment to determine:
  • Patient’s physical ability to undergo the imaging procedure as needed under the supervision of a Registered Technologist.
  • What patient care is needed during the procedure under the supervision of a Registered Technologist.
  • What modification of the procedure may be required by the age of the patient under the supervision of a Registered Technologist.
  • If there are contraindications to performing the procedure as ordered under the supervision of a Registered Technologist.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of twelve (12) months education in a JRCERT accredited School of Radiology.
• BLS certification.
• Twelve (12) months education in a JRCERT accredited School of Radiology.
