Job Summary

The 3-D Technician will assist the Art Faculty to ensure the Sculpture studios, including the wood shop, metal shop, foundry, and forges, are run in a safe and healthy manner.

Education/Qualifications

• Good Conduct and Academic Standing with the college
• Sheridan College Student currently enrolled
• Cumulative GPA is 2.0 or greater

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• General knowledge of the sculptural process, wood shop safety, and metal shop equipment a plus
• Ability to safely handle tools and materials in a responsible manner a must
• Preferably an Art major with an interest in sculpture, wood or metal, but student can be trained

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

• Comfortable working with a variety of art materials and different situations in a safe and healthy manner
• Dirty, dusty, loud working environments
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Job Duties

• Under the supervision of the Sculpture Instructor, the student will:
• Assist in maintaining the Wood and Metals studios
• Monitor the safety in the Wood and Metals studios
• Help with general upkeep within these areas
