Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises the student personnel assistant.
  • Responsible for the operation of the student personnel function, including the behavioral management system and legal services.
  • Aids in managing significant incidents in compliance with government and management directives.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise administrative and programmatic activities of the department.
  • Provide staff training, evaluate staff performance, and implement departmental changes.
  • Develop departmental budget, monitor and control expenditures, and review and recommend changes to budget authorizations.
  • Determine and administer disciplinary action for students who violate rules of conduct.
  • Counsel students when their behavior is inappropriate.
  • Coordinate legal services for students and liaise with legal services, court systems, parole officers, and other law enforcement agencies.
  • Maintain updated student handbook and behavior management system.
  • Conduct orientation and training on behavioral management system for staff and students.
  • Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff, and other center customers.
  • Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps' Zero Tolerance Policy.
  • Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students, and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
  • Maintain accountability of staff, students, and property; adhere to safety practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and two years related experience required, one of which should be supervisory.
  • Directly related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and computer proficiency required.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Pay

$27.12 per hour.
