About the Role
Utah Valley University is seeking a Parking Enforcement Officer to patrol assigned areas of the university, enforce parking regulations, and issue citations to vehicles in violation.
Responsibilities
- Operate mobile computer equipment with printers
- Communicate using two-way radios with 10 codes
- Place tire immobilizers on vehicles
- Respond to motor assist calls
- Assist with traffic and pedestrian control
- Help with accidents or other requests by campus police
- Work during special events such as UVU and High School graduations
- Collect money from pay stations
- Perform routine daily inspections and maintenance of enforcement vehicles (e.g., filling gas tank, checking oil, tire pressure)
- Wear an issued uniform and answer questions from students and the public regarding parking regulations, campus buildings, and points of interest
- Perform other job-related tasks as directed
Requirements
- Must be a current student at UVU
- Must have a valid driver’s license

- Knowledge of:
- Customer service

- Basic computers
- Campus parking lots, roads, and location of buildings
- Campus events and activities
- Skills in:
- Customer service, teamwork, and creative problem solving
- Identifying and promptly resolving customer concerns and complaints
- Driving in all weather conditions
- Basic mechanical procedures
- Ability to:
- Work independently as well as in a team environment
- Possess good analytical, interpersonal, and public relations communication skills
- Work accurately with attention to detail in a highly sensitive environment
- Safely operate all parking enforcement vehicles
- Use relevant equipment including desktop and laptop computers, two-way radios, and electronic parking citation devices
- Comprehend and apply new knowledge in an ongoing training environment
