About This Job
The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) is responsible for managing and protecting the state’s renewable natural resources, including all wildlife and aquatic life. LDWF supports a strong work ethic in its employees and incorporates the use of good science, accurate information, and technology.
The Office of the Secretary exists to provide leadership and support services, administrative direction, and accountability for departmental programs; administrative direction and leadership to ensure the success of subordinate programs; and department-wide coordination, communication, personnel, and basic resources needed to accomplish the department’s mission.
Job Duties And Other Information
The purpose of the LDWF Student Employment program is to employ students at the graduate and undergraduate levels, in fields of study that will be beneficial to LDWF while providing the student with challenging work experience. Students must be currently enrolled full time in an accredited educational institution at the undergraduate or graduate level and maintain enrollment at the University while employed at LDWF. Students can work up to 20 hours per week.

Verification of enrollment from the University will be required upon hire. Students do not need to be registered during the summer sessions in order to be qualified for student status. However, if graduating in the spring semester, proof of enrollment for the fall semester must be received in order to continue employment under the student employment program.
