About the role
Under the supervision of a registered nurse performs a variety of patient care functions to provide assistance in carrying out patient care assignments. All essential functions performed in this position reflect the age-specific needs of the patients. Responsibilities
- Assists patients with activities of daily living.
- Assists registered nurse with all aspects of the nursing process including, but not limited to, assisting with collection of baseline and ongoing assessment data, following the nursing management plan, and monitoring the patient response to nursing interventions.
- Provides and/or reinforces patient instruction.
- Performs designated treatments under supervision according to Nursing Department Policy and Procedure.
- Functions as a patient sitter for safety watch cases.
- Assists in the overall function of the nursing unit under direction of a registered nurse.
- Demonstrates accountability and responsibility as a hospital employee.
- Maintains quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control, in accordance with established hospital department policies, procedures, and objectives.
- Performs other related duties as required.

Basic Knowledge
