Student Nurse Extern

About the role

The Nurse Extern Student Nurse collaborates with the nursing team to gain hands-on experience in patient care, supporting safe and compassionate treatment while developing skills for RN responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), vital signs, mobility, comfort, and hygiene
• Perform basic nursing procedures such as wound care, catheter care, and specimen collection
• Accurately document care and communicate updates to the team
• Educate patients and families about care plans and recovery
• Maintain a clean, safe environment following infection control protocols
• Participate in learning opportunities and collaborate with supervisors to support personal growth

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an RN nursing program with fundamentals completed
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of start
