Overview
The Kreher Preserve & Nature Center (KPNC) is seeking teachers/naturalists to conduct educational programs and classes, lead camps and guided hikes, and assist with community events, all pertaining to outdoor and natural themes.
Responsibilities
- Leads interactive lessons on natural subject areas.
- Completes entire lesson lifecycle including setup, lesson planning, material prep, presenting, and cleanup.
- Leads guided hikes.
- Leads field trips, camps, birthday parties and other nature programs.
- Supervises students of elementary age and under (12 and under).
- Affords assistance with community events.
- Sets up program materials and displays for presentations and programs.
- Cleans and organizes educational materials and supplies.
- Researches and develops educational materials, references, and guides.
Qualifications
- Enrolled student at Auburn University.
- Experience working with the natural world.
- Excellent communication skills including written and verbal.
- Excellent time management skills.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Ability to interact with students from a diversity of ages, races, ethnicities, and backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently, with little supervision.
